Brunswick is known as the relaxed alternative to Byron Bay [10 minutes to the South] for vacationers seeking a green hinterland environment, with isolated beaches stretching as far as the eye can see. If you enjoy a holiday destination with a peaceful ambience by day and gentle sea breezes by night, Brunswick Heads is unsurpassed on the Pacific coast. Brunswick holds a market on the first Saturday of each month-directly in front of Broadview. Oyster beds grace the river estuary, and fishing is all year round for bream, flathead, whiting, gar, schnapper, crabs and prawns. If you like to swim with the fish ask June, Anyaa or Radhika for flippers and goggles and dive into the river just 75 meters in front of Broadview-a wonderful aquarium experience. Eating in Brunswick a relatively small village, Brunswick has a wide variety of cuisines including Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, Organic, great pub food at the Brunswick Hotel and fresh seafood from the Co-op. An ideal way to wind up a day on the beach, is with a drink, and delicious local seafood at one of the outdoor restaurants overlooking the turquoise-blue waters of the Brunswick River.
