Which types of accommodation can register?
If your property is within 15km of a coastal waterway, you are eligible to register with Coast-Accommodation. The accommodation categories available are:- Apartments; Backpackers, Bunkhouses & Lodges; Bed &Breakfasts & Guest Houses; Boats, Cruisers & Yachts, Boutique Hotels; Cabins, Chalets & Bungalows; Caravan Parks & Holiday Parks; Holiday Houses & Cottages; Holiday Units, Holiday Flats & Villas; Hotels; Motels & Motor Inns; Resorts.
Do I have to have a AAA Tourism Star Rating?
No you don’t need a AAA Tourism star rating to register on Coast-Accommodation, the star rating section is simply omitted.

Accommodation Types
Apartments
Provide self-contained accommodation for guests who prefer to cook for themselves. They normally include cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, cooking facilities, fridge and laundry facilities. They are often multi-storey and can be serviced. They can include recreational facilities such as pool, spa, gymnasium and health treatments
Backpackers, Bunkhouses &Lodges
Budget accommodation meeting basic guest requirements. They usually have bunks or beds, with communal kitchen, dining, lounge and bathroom facilities. They often have tour desks and arrange activities for guests.
Bed & Breakfasts, & Guest Houses
Bed & Breakfasts may be traditional home-stay or purpose built boutique accommodation. They offer either private ensuites or shared bathroom facilities, serve cooked breakfasts, or in self-catering accommodation provide breakfast supplies. Tea & coffee making facilities are available. Guest Houses normally accommodate larger numbers of guests and usually provide evening meals in addition to breakfast.
Boats, Cruisers & Yachts
Self-contained coastal accommodation providing a unique onboard experience. Ranges from budget to luxury level and can be self-manned or professionally skippered.
Boutique Hotels
Small properties offering an enhanced level of service, intimate atmosphere and stylish décor. Often provide restaurant, conference and reception facilities.
Cabins, Chalets & Bungalows
Small, self-contained, budget accommodation, sometimes located in tourist parks or properties close to waterways. They normally include cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, cooking facilities and fridge.
Caravan Parks
Caravan Parks usually provide powered and un-powered sites for tents or vans, some with ensuites. On-site vans with limited cooking facilities may also be available. All guests have access to communal cooking, laundry and bathroom facilities.
Holiday Parks
Holiday Parks offer a greater range of accommodation options such as cabins, chalets and bungalows, often with ensuite or spa facilities. They are usually set in attractive grounds with additional facilities such as pools, playgrounds, children’s activities or a small store.
Holiday Houses
Holiday Houses are traditional homes, which provide holiday accommodation throughout the year. They are self-contained and normally include cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, cooking facilities, fridge and laundry facilities.
Cottages
Cottages are smaller, single storey and often close to the water.
Holiday Units,Flats Town Houses & Villas
Provide self-contained accommodation for guests who prefer to cook for themselves, and are often single storey. They are self-contained and normally include cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, cooking facilities, fridge and laundry facilities.
Hotels
Licensed, single or multi-storey accommodation providing meals and other services, dependent upon their star rating. Motels & Motor Inns
Convenient single or multi-storey accommodation for motorists, with parking nearby. Includes ensuite and tea & coffee facilities. Restaurants and conference facilities are often available.
Resorts
Accommodation set in spacious grounds offering a large range of facilities and activities, which often include pools, spas, sauna, gymnasium, health therapies, tennis, golf, tour desk, restaurants, bars, shopping, movies, playgrounds or childcare.
