At the Crown and Anchor Inn service is impeccably first class whilst retaining the friendly country atmosphere. The Crown & Anchor Inn has been renovated with authentic precision to recreate the splendour of this early 1840s small hotel. It was in fact the first substantial building in Eden, preceded only by slab and bark huts. The Crown and Anchor Inn is steeped in a feeling of maritime antiquity with the early Australian character and charm of long gone whalers and sea faring days. Most rooms have a view over Twofold Bay or the Pacific Ocean and offer luxurious bedding, antique furnishings, en suite bathrooms and some open fireplaces (although these are no longer used in the bedrooms). A generous gourmet breakfast bound to delight even the most discerning palate is served in comfort overlooking Twofold Bay. The Bay Room would have been one of the original guest bedrooms and has a view over Twofold Bay. The original hardwood flooring and the different timbers used in the window construction (Australian cedar, local Eucalyptus hardwood and imported Baltic pine probably arriving as ships ballast) have been exposed. The ensuite bathroom is concealed behind the wall mirror with an efficient corner bath/shower. The room paintings include works by Australian artist David Sealy. The room has an antique brass and iron bed and interesting curios of the period. You look out to Twofold Bay from your room.
