Newcomen Bed and Breakfast is tucked away from the street and almost hidden by the garden. The enchanting house and studio are easy to miss. The house, dubbed the flying castle by guests, began life sometime before 1880 as a 2-3 room cottage. Now its magnificent spaces and antique furnishings are much admired. The B&B garden studio is a separate, later building with an ocean view. It, too, reveals itself slowly as a spacious, sunny room with attached bathroom, its ambience created by Art Deco pieces complemented by wooden beams and Persian rugs. Newcomen is a B&B with a difference. With private entrance and courtyard, it is self-contained with every comfort. A generous, delectable breakfast adds zest to your day as does a swim in the private pool. Love our city! Whatever your passion, you can indulge it here. Walk along the Harbour Foreshore, see Nobbys - a symbol of a busy port - and watch the tugs bring in huge ships. Eat what you fancy and watch the people-parade.
