Welcome to the Award Winning BIG4 Tweed Billabong Holiday Park located on the Far North Coast of New South Wales southern Gold Coast, with its own distinctive and unique private tidal saltwater billabong which is fed from the nearby Tweed River. This protected retreat with its four white sandy beaches and unique wildlife is immensely popular for swimming, fishing and canoeing, so while the kids entertain themselves, you can relax in these glorious surroundings. It is Tweed Heads family resort accommodation at its best. A resident for years at the park, Pedro the Mangrove Heron has perfected the art of fishing in our billabong using bread given to him by visitors. He takes the bread and puts a few pieces in the water just off the beach. He then crouches down and waits for the fish to eat the bread. Sometimes he has to adjust the bread as it starts to float away. When the fish come and nibble on the bread, Pedro springs up and grabs the unlucky fish. This has made him famous, appearing on TV shows such as The Great Outdoors and Totally Wild.
