Middle River Homestead and Cottages is centrally located on the sheltered north coast immediately east of Snelling Beach. It is a great location from which to tour the Island - and is also a great place just to relax and explore the surrounds. At Middle River Homestead most guests use the dining room as the main living area - it is heated by a slow combustion heater in winter and in summer the limestone walls keep the temperature cool indoors. The kitchen has 2 refrigerators, a deep freezer, a gas and wood stove and is fully equipped to cater for family dining. The BBQ out on the front verandah gets plenty of use too. There are four separate bedrooms, a large lounge room and two bathrooms.The outlook from the homestead has a lush grove of trees and the river is only metres away. The two cottages have identical facilities but slightly different layouts. They are nearby and have a screen of vegetation giving some privacy and a sense of isolation. The cottages are close enough for several families travelling together to stay but have their own space. We regularly get groups of friends using both cottages and the homestead.
