Welcome to Cape Cassini Wilderness Retreat, Kangaroo Island's only eco accredited Bed and Breakfast. On the North Coast, the retreat is surrounded by 360 hectares of Australian wilderness fronting onto over 2 km of spectacular coastline. When you stay with us you are indirectly supporting Trees for Life, World Wildlife Fund, World Vision, Wilderness Society, Salvation Army and Greenpeace. We provide the perfect escape down a private road through 1000 acres of coastal wilderness to a clifftop paradise with fantastic ocean views. Watch the wild kangaroos, wallabies and birds from the comfort of the retreat, enjoy bushwalking, take a guided tour, experience the beauty of the sea and shoreline. The retreat has no physical attachment to the outside world unless initiated. The telephone is a radio transmitter and receiver, the electricity, water, waste and seasonal fruit and vegetables are all onsite. However the retreat does have the comforts of the 21st century so you can choose to be in seclusion from the 21st century or enjoy a bit of both, your choice! Built on a waffle pod concrete raft, the Retreat features rammed earth and stone walls with most of the stone collected from the property's track. With appropriate roof overhang and lots of window area on the northern side, the result is a house that is warm in winter and cool in summer.
