Demole River Retreat is unique. Because of its location nature abounds everywhere. Native orchids and wildflowers proliferate in season, and over 150 species of bird, 1 monotreme, two macropods, varied marsupials and one monitor lizard can be commonly seen in the immediate grounds. Kangaroo Island is world famous for the range and variety of its flora and fauna, and although many species can be found on the mainland, they are often dispersed across vast distances. Due to the very special nature of Demole River Retreat, there are some provisos that are necessary to understand if contemplating a visit. Absolutely no pets. No children under 5. (As we are primarily a wildlife reservewith a river close to the house). Although there is a C.D. player/radio and stereo system there is no DVD or Television. (Trust us once you are here, you wont miss it, and you will also understand why we choose not to have them here. You are welcome to play with the houses board games or cards, or bring your own portable DVD player.) NO mobile phone coverage. (Although there is a landline phone in the house, it is only able to place calls locally...In case of emergency, all calls can be received, and upon booking a contact number will be provided!) A large covered Gas Barbeque is supplied and all linen and bedding and towels are supplied.
