Highgate farmhouse was established in the late 1980s as a holiday home for visitors to stay in a rural setting. The air conditioned cottage offers the comforts of home in a spacious fully equipped holiday house with five bedrooms, two queen sized beds, continental quilts and pillows on the beds, colour satellite TV and DVD player. Newly remodelled kitchen with electric stove, microwave, full fridge and separate freezer and washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is a large barbeque area with barbeque tables and chairs. Also a cozy wood fire for heating in the winter with wood supplied. Outside is a fish cleaning area for the keen fisherman to clean their catch. Under cover parking is available for vehicles. No pets allowed as Kangaroos and wallabies graze at the front of the cottage at dusk and possums arriving at the back door after dark waiting for a piece of fruit. Echidnas often pass through the yard. Koalas can be heard at night as they live in the gum trees nearby that surround the house. Many species of birds can be located around the house and bush including Rainbow Lorikeets, Crimson Rosella, and Honeyeaters, Magpies, Plovers, Blue Wrens and Scarlet Robins. Visitors are welcome to wander around the nearby paddocks keeping in mind to leave the gates how they were found as Highgate is a working property with Merino sheep, Prime Lambs and Murray Grey Cattle.
