Beachport was settled in the 1830\'s as a whaling station and by 1845 had become a trading port for merchants in Adelaide. Today Beachport is an important and safe harbour for the local crayfish boats and trawlers. Enjoy Beachport with its sandy beaches, offering fishing, surf, safe swimming and spectacular coastline. Lake George offers water sports and many wading birds frequent the area. From the Units its only a short walk to the Pool of Siloam Salt Lake which is as natural swimming lake fed by underground springs.
