Oyster Cove Inn - This fine old hotel is situated on the waterfront at Kettering and is an easy travel of 25 minutes by car from Hobart. "The Oyster Cove Inn was originally built around 1890, as a magnificent home for a British plantation owner named Cotton. He and his family would spend their Christmas holidays at the home, his Sri Lankan servants arriving a month beforehand to make preparations for the festive season. The house had the first private telephone in Tasmania, and also boasted the best privately-owned botanical gardens." There is Kayaking, fishing, boat hire, yacht hire and bushwalking available. We can provide you with a local experienced guide, to even take you on tour to Bruny Island. We cater for Backpackers to comfortable travellers and families. Double and Twin Accommodation with shared facilities at very reasonable rates. Functions and Wedding Receptions. Amongst the interesting things to look at are carvings by local sculptor Roland Gabatel, which can be seen throughout the grounds of the Oyster Cove Inn.
