The Triabunna Cabin and Caravan Park is almost an attraction in itself. You wont find a more friendly or hospitable place to stay in Tasmania. There are beautifully appointed modern cabins, onsite caravans, backpacker dorms, powered caravan sites and a camping area. There is a covered, paved barbeque area, a picnic shelter and camp kitchen, and the entire park is groomed with lawns and gardens. A short walk to the town, the Spring Bay pub, and the ferry to Maria Island, there is no better place to base your east coast holiday than the Triabunna Cabin and Caravan Park. Triabunna is an historic town and port with lots of interesting places to visit. Catch a fish off one of the town jetties or buy a crayfish fresh from a fishing boat. Just a 45-minute ferry ride from Triabunna, Maria Island National Park is one of Australia's most beautiful uninhabited islands. The ferry departs daily. Cape Barren Geese, possums, wallabies and native birds are especially prolific. A short walk from the ferry wharf you can find the spectacular Painted and Fossil Cliffs, famous for their beautiful natural patterning and warmth of colour. There is lots to do on Maria Island. Explore the historic buildings and ruins. Rediscover the past from history displays set up in the Commissariat Store, Coffee Palace, Mess Hall and the William Smith O'Brien Cottage. Choose one of the walks and check out the natural features and cultural heritage. Walks vary in duration from 10 minutes to overnight.
