The Flinders Island Cabin Park is the first choice for easy self-catering holiday accommodation that delivers the peace and relaxation one expects from a special holiday destination in Tasmania. With daily flights from Launceston, and car hire available on arrival, it’s easy to get to, and just as easy to get around. Flinders Island is a historically significant Island at the eastern end of Bass Strait between north eastern Tasmania and Wilsons Promontory on the mainland. It is the largest of the 52 Islands in the Furneaux group. Its geography ranges from high granite mountains to long sandy beaches to fertile farmland and wide lagoons – all teeming with wildlife. Flinders Island offers many opportunities for bird watchers, photographers, rock climbers, divers, topaz fossickers, hikers, and fishermen. There are numerous shipwrecks and a rich history that dates back to its discovery by Europeans with the wreck of the ship Sydney Cove in 1797. The centrally located Flinders Island Cabin Park provides the ideal base from which to explore the island. The Flinders Island Cabin Park consists of 8 comfortable brick cabins set in park like surroundings. It has about 30 beds and can cater for individuals or groups. Guests are met at the Whitemark airport and provided with a map and given advice on where to go and what to see depending on their individual interests.
