St Helens Backpackers Hostel is the perfect base to explore Tasmanias East Coast. Situated right by the harbour in the centre of St Helens you will find all facilities and shops right on the doorstep. St Helens is a great place to stay. St Helens is 166 km east of Launceston and 36 km north of St Marys. It can be reached in about three hours from Hobart along the A3 highway via Bicheno. The hostel is centrally located near the bay and with the bus depot only a five minutes walk away. An open cathedral roofed lounge provides a light and airy living space. Wood panelling throughout creates a warm and cosy atmosphere. It is furnished with stylish matching wooden tables and chairs to seat sixteen on three tables. French windows open onto a spacious deck which is shaded by enclosed trees: ideal to escape the sun on hot days and flood-lit at night for warm summer BBQs. And for the colder months there is a comfy upholstered sofa just by the wood burner! New for 2008 is a separate flashpackers where en-suite family, double and small dorm rooms are available all equipped with their own TV, shower and toilet.
