The River Cottage is in a unique position on the Silt Jetties - right on the Mitchell River, with Lake King lapping at the back yard. BYO rods and dogsand a boat too, if you have one. But you don't need either to enjoy the serenity of this unique location. Here in our sunny and temperate micro-climate, easterly sea breezes keep us cool in summertime when the inland is sweltering. Our winter days are lovely and clear, mild and still. This waterfront and water-back cottage is perfect for both nature-lovers and fisherpeople. The floors are timber-look pine vinyl - perfect for holidays and for dogs. Large new windows and double sliding glass doors let in lots of light and beautiful views over the water. The cottage has a wood-fired combustion heater with a wood pile out back for those chilly winter evenings which follow our glorious sunny winter days. There is a modern bathroom and shower. Only 50 steps from your front door to the private jetty with moorings. Boat owners can put their boat in at the ramp near The Cut and motor the 3 kms downriver to the mooring. There is plenty of room in the cottage yard for your boat trailer. You'll never have to use the car again - just motor around to Paynesville, across Lake King to Nicholson or Metung, or up the Mitchell River to Bairnsdale.
