Douglas on River is an excellent little network of selfcontained accommodation, surrounded by lawns running down the bank of the river Moyne, it has a spanking-new feel and lovely touches such as Genovese coffee supplied. They can be booked as BnB or selfcontained rooms. Nestled on the banks of the Moyne River; with tall, aged, Norfolk Island Pines lining the river front and with more than generous surroundings, The Douglas on River rests itself in the grounds of historic Douglas House. Constructed in 1852, Douglas House served as Port Fairys Dispensary, Post Office, Drapery Store and Shipping Agents habitat before being converted to guesthouse accommodation in 1901. No longer used for guesthouse accommodation, the area beside Douglas House sprouted in recent times, conservatory buildings with bed and breakfast and self catering facilities offering you peace, tranquility and a wholistic experience. The Douglas on River is minutes walk from the town centre, away from the bustle of the Princes Highway, by the river, yet a stones throw and short stroll to the beginnings of the ocean. The road leading from The Douglas on River will take you to the award winning Port Fairy 18 hole Golf Course. Functions.
