Gilgie Getaway self-contained retreat - our self-contained chalet accommodates up to six guests in spacious comfort, with everything you need for a relaxing getaway in a natural bushland setting overlooking coastal dunes. Gilgie Getaway holiday chalet is situated in a secluded valley which adjoins the Lowlands Nature Reserve, between Albany and Denmark, Western Australia. Most of our 68 acre property has been left untouched, with some areas set aside for cattle and our organic market garden, where we organically grow seasonal vegetables. A nature lover's and bush walker's paradise - Flora and fauna abound and there are spectacular bush walks adjacent to the property, including the famous Bibbulmun Track. Visit secluded Lowlands Beach and other nearby beaches, explore rugged West Cape Howe National Park, or simply relax in the comfort of your very private accommodation. The chalet's modern interior is spacious and well-appointed for your comfort, and the covered outside living area affords an excellent vantage point for watching the resident kangaroos, which frequent the area in front of the chalet at dawn and dusk. Enjoy the company of abundant birdlife and, in spring, the brilliant blanket of colour cast by wildflowers over the landscape. The area between Albany and Denmark has a beautiful coastline and is ideal for those looking for a quiet break.
