| Our Full-Day Encounter takes you to habitats rich in bird-life within Darwin as well as venturing beyond to the wetlands of Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve and the surrounding regions for a chance to see species such as the endangered Gouldian Finch. We visit monsoon rainforest in search of the endemic Rainbow Pitta and the colourful Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove; coastal foreshores in search of shorebirds, Sacred Kingfisher and Brahminy Kite; mangroves for Red-headed Honeyeater and Collared Kingfisher; wetlands for a variety of water birds including the iconic Black-necked Stork (Jabiru); and savannah woodland for Forest Kingfisher, Spangled Drongo and various Finch species including the rare and endangered Gouldian Finch. |
