Pelican Feeding at The Entrance
OUR STORY |
Feeding time at The Entrance We were enjoying a delightful alfresco late lunch along the foreshore at The Entrance, on the Central Coast of NSW. The children had grown tired of chasing each other around the aquatic playground and were on the lookout for the next activity. They noticed a crowd of people starting to gather around ever increasing numbers of pelicans coming in from the lake entrance. Some volunteers appeared with trolleys of fish for the pelican feeding session, which apparently takes place at 3pm every afternoon. This wonderful experience is definitely a must and was quite entertaining, as some clever pelicans tried to beat the system and help themselves to a few extra fish. The commentary certainly added to our understanding of these magnificent birds. |
