Bangalow Markets
Sunday Markets at Bangalow Bangalow Markets take place on the fourth Sunday of each month at the Bangalow Showground just 14km inland from Byron Bay. Bangalow is a beautiful historic country town with a fabulous main street lined with heritage shopfronts and some funky cafes. The markets are very popular and attract a huge number of high quality stalls and an equally huge number of people. We had to queue up to get into the parking area, which cost $2. As soon as we stepped out of the car we heard music from a variety of groups and the happy noise of people enjoying themselves. It is a great family day out with activities for the children such as candle making, face painting and ferris wheels, but keep in mind that pets are not permitted at the markets. The variety of stalls is amazing covering crafts, health, clothing, jewellery, produce, plants, gifts, art, toys and furniture. The stand of camphor laurel trees in the centre of the area creates a wonderful woodsy atmosphere and encourages relaxed wandering. As your clan tires of walking around, you can head down the end to the collection of food stalls and sit down and enjoy Indian, Mediterranean, Thai, crepes, waffles and fresh fruits. |
