Territory Wildlife Park Visit

The Territory Wildlife Park is the best wildlife park we have ever visited and is only a 45 minute drive south of Darwin and is located next door to Berry Springs Nature Reserve. The Park consists of three sections. The Wetlands section features an Aquarium, Billabong, Goose Lagoon and Ooloo Sandbar; the Monsoon section contains the Aviaries and the Woodland section houses the Flight Deck and Nocturnal House. The park has an extensive system of walking tracks to take you to the exhibits, or there is a free shuttle train which runs around the 4km loop road and accommodates wheelchairs and strollers. Our favourite was the Flight Deck, where free flying birds of prey and wading birds demonstrate their natural behaviours and keepers are also available for informal chats. The children were very excited by the Aquarium, where they could watch the underwater swimming behaviours of ducks, turtles, rays and a salt water crocodile. Nemo also makes an apppearance.
