Coolangatta Whale Watch
Whale breaching It is July and with a cloudless blue sky overhead we opt for a tour on the beautiful 50 foot catamaran with Coolangatta Whale Watch. After the safety briefing we head out over the Tweed River bar and with a guaranteed siting we wait excitedly for the first whale call. After 30 mins we first see a keen male repeatedly slapping his flukes and waving his pectoral fins. There are many vantage points on the boat so we move upstairs for a different perspective and are immediately rewarded with 15 mins of breaching. This is quite spectacular and makes for fabulous photos with Mt Warning and the Gold Coast skyline as a backdrop. With over 10 years experience, Tony and Carol make a professional team providing a memorable experience with the added benefit of learning more about these magnificent mammals of the sea. |
