Larry the Lobster
The Big Lobster in Kinston SE Australians have a fascination for building big things. Along a number of Australia\'s highways you will find big things such as bananas, pineapples, merinos, koalas, galahs etc. As we were travelling through the Coorong National Park on the South Australian Limestone Coast, we came across one such big thing on the Princes Highway in Kingston SE. Larry the Big Lobster is built from a steel frame and fibreglass and measures 17m high, 15m long, 13m wide and weighs 4 tonnes. Kingston SE has a working cray fishing fleet and is well regarded for its seafood, so it is natural that most people will stop for a photo of Larry and try the seafood from the restaurant. Keep an eye out for big things when next travelling around Australia\'s highways. |
