Tulips in Tasmania

Table Cape tulips

Table Cape tulips

We were on our way to stay overnight at beautiful Boat Harbour on the NW coast of Tasmania and decided to drive through Wynyard and up to Table Cape in the hope of seeing some tulips. What a magnificent vista opened up to us as we came to the crest of Table Cape Road and looked out across the fields of Wynyard Tulip Farm, Bass Straight and Table Cape Lighthouse. The patchwork rows of tulips in every imaginable colour were amazing against the backdrop of the ocean and lighthouse standing guard in the distance. Even an amateur photographer can\'t help but take beautiful photos from any angle. You can also pay to go into the tulip farm, which enables you to walk up and down the rows and get right up close. The undulating nature of the fields allow for some great vantage points for photographs in all directions. It really is worth timing your trip to coincide with tulip time in September and October, as there is really nothing quite like it.
