Horizontal Falls
Aerial shot of Horizontal Falls We were up early for our transfer to the airport, where we met 8 others also travelling by seaplane on the Horizontal Falls Tour. The aerial views of mudflats and ranges along the way were fabulous, then we saw the Falls themselves, which were absolutely amazing! We landed close to the falls and had to wait a while for the tide to change, tidal variations in the area are often as much as ten metres. Unfortunately we were unable to swim in the water, as there were sharks and crocodiles present, however in Talbot Bay we saw the Paspaley Pearl Farms. After a BBQ lunch we boarded a jet boat and travelled across the falls on the incredible tidal change. The trip through this gorge on this amazing natural phenomenon was truly impressive. |
