Queensland - Capricorn Coast

Yeppoon information

Located 43km north east of Rockhampton, Yeppoon is an attractive seaside town. Previously established as a fruit growing area, Yeppoon is now recognised as the gateway to Great Keppel Island.

Attractions and activities include swimming, fishing and relaxing, exploring the rainforests of Byfield National Park, the wildlife reserve at Cooberrie Park and the “Singing Ship” Captain Cook’s Memorial at Emu Park.

Great Keppel Island information

Located 13km offshore from Yeppoon, Great Keppel Island is a tropical haven for everyone from singles to families.

Rockhampton information

Located at the head of the Fitzroy River and 107km north of Gladstone, Rockhampton is an elegant city with many historic buildings. Previously established by cattle farmers, Rockhampton is now regarded as the beef capital of Australia.

Located on a natural deep harbour, 185km north of Bundaberg, Gladstone is a major industrial city. Previously established as a penal colony, Gladstone is now one of the busiest ports in Australia.

Agnes Water information

Located 85km south east of Gladstone, Agnes Water is Queensland’s most northerly surfing beach. The nearby town of Seventeen Seventy, was the first place Captain Cook set ashore in Queensland.

Attractions and activities include Eurimbula and Deepwater National Parks, surfing lessons and diving the Great Barrier Reef, mud crabbing, game and reef fishing, canoeing, sailing and snorkelling, breeding grounds for loggerhead turtles November to February and hatching January to April.
